Bird of Paradise

This lady was inspired by some peacock feathers in my stash and those wonderful bronze Art-Deco dancing ladies. I decided to test how much of a figure I could sculpt convincingly, so consequently she is entirely made from air-drying clay except for her lower torso. I was never entirely happy with her original costume as shown here previously, so I have now re-dressed her, making use of beadwork techniques recently learned in the assembly of excellent Christmas Bauble kits from Spellbound Beads. She is fixed to her hand-turned wooden base and stands 12 inches high (including the feathers) x 5 inches wide x 6 inches deep. 175
